Mr Wrong Number by Lynn Painter is about Olivia, who is the clumsiest person there is. Due to an accident, she has to move in with her brother and his best friend, Colin. When a random number starts to text her, she begins to talk openly about her feelings and what she enjoys during sex. Mr Wrong Number also opens up. But Colin soon realizes that Olivia is his wrong number, but Olivia has no idea who her wrong number is. Then they start slowly falling for each other in real life and things get more complicated.
So, basically, I came for the smut. I read so many good things about this book. Everyone seemed to compare it to Ali Hazlewood’s books and as I absolutely loved them, I was excited to read this book. But now I am a little disappointed. Olivia and Colin miss some chemistry. Don’t get me wrong, there was some chemistry, but it didn’t spark. I couldn’t connect with Olivia at all. She only wants to hear what she believes is right. There were so many problems in this book between Olivia and Colin that could have been easily resolved by talking to each other. The sex scenes were steamy, but not as steamy as everyone made it sound.
This book just wasn’t what I thought it would be. It wasn’t bad, but I expected something different.

Bringing Down the Duke (A League of Extraordinary Women 1)
Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore is the first book in the A League of Extraordinary Women series. Annabelle finally gets the chance to study at Oxford. During her help for the women’s suffrage movement she meets Sebastian, a powerful duke in England. In the efforts to win him for their cause, Annabelle is falling for him. And even though it is socially not acceptable, Sebastian falls for the country woman as well.
I’ve had this book on my to-read list for over three years. When a friend of mine said she had it at home, I was really excited to finally read it. However, I am a little disappointed. This book was not really my cup of tea. The characters are all rather cold and distant. None of them really appealed to me. I just didn’t get warm with them. Sebastian was the coldest of them all. I did not really see his charm. He is abrupt and demanding, but he never did anything against Annabelle’s wishes. All the aristocratic and misogynistic thinking made me mad. I was constantly annoyed and just did not really enjoy the writing style of this book. The sex scenes were steamy and okayish.
There was nothing extraordinary or exciting in this book. It was an okay read. Sadly, I don’t want to read the other books in the series. I expected something different.

Loathe to Love You
Loathe to Love You is a collection of three novellas by Ali Hazelwood. We follow the stories of Mara and Liam, Sadie and Erik, and Hannah and Ian. Mara and Liam both inherit the same house and hate each other’s guts, but living so close together can change feelings. Sadie and Erik ignore each other due to some misinformation and miscommunication. But then they are stuck in an elevator. Hannah and Ian both work for NASA and Ian saves Hannah from freezing to death.
This book made me feel tingly as early as page 7! The sex scenes in this book are few, but steamy and well written. I still very much love reading about women in STEM, but I realized that novellas are just not really my thing. It always feelings like there is something missing. I loved to read the three different but somehow interwoven stories, but the depth was missing. Everything happened so fast and I wanted to know more about them! The bonus chapter at the end was quite nice, but not enough for me.
This book is a quick, steamy read. It was not bad, but novellas are just too short for me. But I still love Ali Hazelwood’s book. They are nice to read.

Verliebe dich. Nicht. von Laura Kneidl schließt die Berühre mich. Nicht. Reihe mit Megan und Cameron wundervoll ab. Nachdem Megan nach Melview gezogen ist, um sich ganz ihrer Kunst zu widmen, versucht sie Cameron zu meiden, der ihr beim letzten Treffen eine Abfuhr erteilt hatte. Doch Megan sucht dringend einen Job und findet in Camerons Café einen. Beide fühlen trotz ihrer Vergangenheit die starke Anziehung zwischen ihnen, doch zwischen Chef und Angestellten sollte das nicht so sein.
Nachdem mir die letzten beiden Bücher nicht so stark gefallen hatten, bin ich umso begeisterter, dass dieser letzte Teil richtig gut war! Er schließt die Reihe perfekt ab und war auch nicht so düster und deprimierend, wie die anderen vier Teile. Cameron und Megan haben keine psychischen Störungen, was das Lesen des Buches etwas leichter machte. Megan hat in ihrer Vergangenheit auch Leid erfahren und auch Cameron hatte es nicht einfach, dennoch war das Buch nicht so erdrückend. Und anscheinend habe ich noch nie über die Buchcover dieser Reihe gesprochen. Die sind so unglaublich schön. Die Farben passen perfekt zusammen. Die Bücher sind einfach wunderschön. Auch wenn mich nicht alle Bücher dieser Reihe voll überzeugt haben, habe ich sie trotzdem gerne gelesen.
Megan und Cameron sind zwei sehr ehrgeizige Menschen. Sie wissen genau, was sie wollen und tun alles in ihrer Macht, um das auch möglich zu machen. Mit der Zeit lernen beide, dass es mit Unterstützung und Vertrauen am besten geht. Ihre Chemie ist besonders gut, was auch zu richtig sexy und steamy Szenen geführt hat (die waren wirklich, wirklich gut!). Durch das ganze Buch hinweg haben beide auch sehr gut kommuniziert und es kam zu keiner Fehlkommunikation. Beide haben einander auch sehr vertraut. Ich glaube, die beiden sind mein Lieblingspärchen in der Reihe. Es freut mich auch, dass beide ihre Träume erfüllen konnten. Natürlich war es auch richtig toll, dass die anderen Charaktere aus der Reihe wieder aufgetaucht sind und man einen weiteren Einblick in ihr Leben bekommen hat.
Laura Kneidl hat wieder eine gute Buchreihe geschrieben. Auch wenn ich nicht alle Bücher ganz so toll fand, ist die Reihe gut und ich kann sie weiterempfehlen. Die Bücher sind zwar eher düster und nicht so unbeschwerlich wie andere Bücher von Laura Kneidl. Daher sollte man auf sich aufpassen und Trigger-Warnungen ernst nehmen. Dieser Teil hat mir fast am besten gefallen. Auf jeden Fall freue ich mich auf weitere Bücher von Laura Kneidl.
